𝗚𝗨𝗬𝗦, 𝗜 𝗛𝗔𝗧𝗘 𝗠𝗬 𝗣𝗛𝗬𝗦𝗜𝗤𝗨𝗘 😢

Yep you read that right


I saw the picture below the other day and immediately I thought …


Damn I look a lil fat 😳


My love handles are showing ☹️


My arms are not big enough ☹️


My abs don’t look sculpted...


Have you ever felt the same way?


You’re not alone.


I’ve had clients tell me that they used to avoid mirrors because they were too ashamed of what they’d see 😢


Perhaps, you feel the same way too.


Imagine, I've been working out for 5+ years & have made MASSIVE progress both physically & mentally which I'm really grateful for.


And yet I have moments where I hate what I see 🤷🏾‍♂️


Can someone tell me why our brain works extra hard to find all the reasons why we shouldn’t be happy?🤦🏾‍♂️


I know such thoughts are super discouraging especially if you’re just starting your fitness journey or you're yet to start.


I say societal standards are to blame.


My rant continues 😆 keep reading👇🏾


Societal standards say if your abs are not popping & you’re not shredded, you still have a long way to go.


If you have some belly fat but you’re strong as hell, you’re still not considered fit.


It feels like we're working so hard to meet these unrealistic standards.


Truth is not everybody wants or should be like bodybuilders with super defined physique.


That's their goal & we need to have our own.


Some of us just enjoy the feeling of having great endurance, strength, mental clarity, energy...


You see fitness is way more than looks. It is a lifestyle.


If you constantly feel unhappy with your body, try doing this simple exercise👇🏾


✍️ Write down a list of lifestyle progresses you've made in the past year whether big or small.


Get in the habit of reflecting at least once a week.


Reflecting will help you appreciate how far you've come & helps you maintain a positive state of mind.


Many of my clients have used this strategy to stay locked in & keep making progress.
